Hey all.

I'm wondering where you all get your ebooks from? Usually, if I like the sound of something, i ...ahem... obtain it electronicly and if I like it I'll more often than not just by the paperback or find some way of compensating the author.
However, I'm looking for something that's just been released so it's not obtainable yet. The ebook prices range from £10 to £12 which is only a shade under the price of the paperback which to me is unacceptable. Amazon do sell the paperback a fair bit cheaper than other sites like waterstones who are wanting £12.95, but I really don't want to have to ocr it. They also sell it for the kindle for an acceptable £7 or there abouts, but it's not really the most cost effective option since the prerequsit of getting the book at that price is that you have to own a kindle which seem to retail for about £200.

Does anyone know of a site that offer ebooks at a more sensible pricing skeme or is this the norm for ebook prices?

Chears.

As a side note, it's a sad fact of life that even if I do find it at a good price electronicly I'd probably have to break the law in order to read it.

In that case, just search on torrent sites so you can get it for free. Still, I don't see why, if you did buy it legally, you' then d need to break the law in order to read it.

Another option is to buy it, scan it and either resell it or send it back.
